Invited lecture and hands-on tutorial on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) for the Introduction to Generative AI course. The lecture covers why we need RAG, how RAG works, building RAG systems, vector databases, evaluation, and techniques to improve RAG quality. The hands-on session walks through data preparation, indexing, generation, evaluation, and extensions of a working RAG pipeline.
